Toronto based desert punk band Black Budget is releasing their latest single “Behave” May 17, 2024. Currently signed to New York based label King Pizza Records, this single marks the second release of many under this partnership.
Behave is about the blandness and demotivation of the school and corporate world. We're being told art and having individual thoughts are bad in society and we are being constantly pulled away from creativity. We're raised to follow the norm, the rules, and to just shut up and behave. The lyrics are written from the perspective of a person in power, who benefits from people not being allowed to think creatively. The song was recorded live off the floor at the band’s studio, mixed by Jeremy Hayes, and mastered by Mob Town Studios.

The band brings together 4 slabs of molten rock that combines the spirit and energy of punk with the groove and heaviness of metal, delivered with ferocious vocals and cynical lyrics.
Black Budget has opened for legendary punk bands Teenage Bottlerocket and The Queers. Their dynamic stage presence and raw intensity have also earned them slots at NXNE 2022, 2023, and 2024 as well as a showcase at CMW in 2023.
